What we do
We help you plan a Costa Rica trip that works on the ground. That means realistic routes and drive times, how many nights each region needs, when to go, how to get between places without a car if you'd rather not drive, and which parks need tickets booked ahead.
Places on the site, from national parks to small lodges and tour operators, are there to support that planning. Each profile explains what the place is, where it fits in a route, who it suits and how to get there, and links to its official website.
How we check
We started from the places we've covered since 2011, checked whether each one is still open, and dropped the ones that aren't or that we couldn't confirm. Then we added the planning guides a Costa Rica trip really needs. Every page shows the date we last checked it. Read more in how we choose and check places.
Corrections
Roads change, ferries change schedules and businesses close. If something on a page is out of date, please tell us and we'll check it and fix it.
